March 10, 2010 Sedona AZ–“A Day in the Life of a CCC Camp in Northern AZ”  with Victoria Clark, Wednesday, March 10, at 9:00 a.m. at the Sedona Heritage Museum, 735 Jordan Road in Uptown Sedona.  Refreshments.  Free.  For more info, 928-282-7038.    The Sedona Historical Society is hosting the next in their 2010 series of Living History presentations on Wednesday March 10 at 9:00 a.m. at the Sedona Heritage Museum. 

This program will feature local author Victoria Clark speaking on “A Day in the Life of a CCC Camp in Northern AZ.”   Sedona residents may not be aware of the role this Depression era program played in Northern Arizona.  After much research, Ms. Clark will present a hypothetical scenario of what it was like to be a CCC ‘boy’, including work, education and the social life of a typical camp.  Her presentation will include historical photographs, including images and mentions about the Sedona CCC Camp.  
    

Victoria is a Sedona resident, retired teacher and active in five Arizona historical societies plus the International Questers.  She is currently the Arizona Questers state president.  Victoria grew up in Tucson, has taught writing, and is the author of several books, poems and short stories on Arizona history. 

In addition, she has been a contributor to antiques and collectible-related magazines.  Her collection of vintage postcards of early Tucson has grown to over 4,000 and a leadership role in postcard clubs and exchanges.
     

After the program, Ms. Clark will be available for questions, and refreshments will be served.  This is a free public event.
    

Every year, the Sedona Historical Society presents a series of Living History talks.  Speakers will include descendants of pioneers, long-time residents with historical stories to share or other story-tellers about history.  The Sedona Historical Society also operates the Sedona Heritage Museum.  The Museum is located at 735 Jordan Road in Jordan Historical Park in Uptown Sedona and is open daily 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.  For more information, call 928-282-7038
