Sedona Parks & Recreation Offers Introduction to Astronomy, an interactive educational and entertaining evening under the stars on Thursday, March 4, beginning at 6:30 p.m. Free event! Reserve class space today!
Located in the Recreation Room located near the multiuse field in Posse Grounds Park, 525 Posse Ground Road.
Participants will be taught about the spring and summer time constellations along with the viewing of planets, double stars, nebula and galaxies. The red planet Mars will be visible in the East with the ringed planet Saturn rising soon after. The evening will begin with a presentation on the highlights of the spring and summer Milky Way.
Following the PowerPoint presentation (7:30 p.m.), participants will be given the opportunity to view the objects they just learned about through telescopes provided.
Do you have a telescope you never learned how to use? Bring your own telescope and let our team of amateur astronomers show you how to properly care for and set up the equipment.
