Founded in 2005 by Rita Livingston as publisher with the editorial and reporting pen of Tommy Acosta, local musician and writer, the Sedona Verde Valley Times began publishing every four to six weeks.  The Sedona Verde-Valley Times newspaper was welcomed as the community views and news outlet that reported views and opinions of issues not covered by other local papers.  In 2008, Livingston changed the newspaper name to the Sedona Times.  In 2010, Keep Sedona Beautiful, a powerhouse non-profit, named Rita Livingston a recipient of the prestigious KSB Service Award. Livingston serves on many Sedona and Verde Valley Boards, is active in local and state organizations and is a founding member of Good Morning Sedona. In January 2010, C. Bentley Hill joined the Sedona Times as a director and in May 2010, Livingston retired as publisher.  Hill, now Owner/Publisher and Tommy Acosta, Senior Editor and Reporter were quickly joined by Eddie Maddock as Editorial Assistant for the May 6 2010 newspaper edition.  Livingston, 79 years of age,  and an Arizona icon remains active as the newspaper’s advisor and ambassador-at-large. The new SedonaTimes.com Web site is fast becoming the daily news feed for its 14,000 readership, and growing weekly, it is well-posed to overtake any competition.
